Passwords and PINs
Where do I get my University ICT Account & student e-mail address from?
These are normally sent to you before you start your course. Alternatively, you can collect your ICT Account (user name & password) and your University Student e-mail address from the ICT Help Desk in your own School or from the iZone, once you have enrolled at the University. If you are collecting your account from the Library we will need to see your Teesside University Smart Card (TUSC). Students from the School of Computing will receive their details from their School.
How do I change my student password to something more memorable to log in?
It is possible to change your ICT password. Go to URL https://myaccess.tees.ac.uk/pcs and follow the instructions.
What do I need to do if I've forgotten my password?
If you have already registered, go straight to the Self Service Password Recovery option on URL https://myaccess.tees.ac.uk/pcs.
If you haven't registered, you will need to ask at the IT Help Desk in your School or at the iZone in the Library during full service hours.
How do I register to be able to re-set my own password?
Go to URL https://myaccess.tees.ac.uk/pcs and register your security questions via the Manage Your Security Details option. Once registered, you can re-set your password to a new one of your own choice by choosing the Self Service Password Recovery option.
What do I need a PIN for?
Your PIN is a 4-digit number unique to you and is required to renew your loans either over the telephone or via the web. You will also require your PIN to access other University systems e.g. Unity, the University portal.
How can I find out what my PIN is?
Staff and students can set up their own PINs via the URL https://myaccess.tees.ac.uk/pcs by selecting the option to "Manage your security details".
Alternatively you can ask at the iZone on the Ground Floor or telephone the Library on 01642 342100 during full service hours, press zero to speak to a staff member and request that your PIN be posted out to you
What is the PIN used for?
The PIN is used for self-renewals via the web or telephone, reserving books through the Library Catalogue, and when using the self services to borrow or renew items in the Library.
