Drop-in Student Skills Centre (DISSC)
DISSC is located on the ground floor of the Library. It offers both a 'drop-in' and an appointment service.

It is open daily and up to three late evenings during term time, with a restricted service during vacations.

Opening Times
The staff in DISSC are all academic tutors who can help provide additional writing and study skills support. It is a confidential service open to all undergraduate and post-graduate students.
Appointments to see a tutor can be made by calling into DISSC during opening hours or telephoning 01642 342709.
Maths Centre
The Maths Centre is now in DISSC, so the DISSC tutors will help you with queries about mathematics, statistics or SPSS.
Help with English as a second language
If English is your second language and you need help with academic writing or any aspect of English, there are English language tutors available in DISSC 3 times per week. They can provide help with academic writing, presentations or any aspect of English.

DISSC Live!
DISSC also provides an online site, which contains information on topics such as plagiarism, referencing and writing essays. The web address is: http://dissc.tees.ac.uk.
DISSC on E-learning @ Tees
You can access further DISSC resources on E-learning @ Tees through the Academic Skills organisation available to all University students and staff.
To find DISSC on E-learning @ Tees:
- Login to E-learning @ Tees.
- Click on the 'Home' tab.
- Under My Organisations, select the link 'Academic Skills'.
- You will see the link to DISSC on both the welcome page and the menu.
